Marco’s journey with the Kent Association of Riding Therapy began in 1985 during a visit to the United States. Captivated by KART’s mission, he began a decades-long pursuit to relocate to America and dedicate his career to the field of therapeutic riding.

Originally from Novara, Italy, Marco holds a degree in Animal Science from the State University of Milan. His diverse international background includes co-founding the Eques Cooperative Society in Tuscany to promote equestrian sports and managing environmental education programs for the World Wildlife Fund. He also holds specialized credentials as a Vaulting Trainer, further broadening his technical equestrian expertise.

He is a Certified Therapeutic Registered Instructor (CTRI), an Equine Specialist in Mental Health, and Learning (ESMHL) through PATH Intl. He possesses specialized training in supporting individuals navigating ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Autism, and Anger Management. His approach is deeply informed by his multifaceted roles in the mental health and therapeutic communities; in addition to his work at KART and Worthmore Equestrian Center, he serves as a PRP (Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program) Supervisor for Wraparound MD. Whether leading group sessions or private lessons, Marco is committed to mentoring children and adults toward greater independence, confidence, and emotional resilience.

Jen returns to the KART team with a lifelong equestrian background and a longstanding history with our organization. A "B" Graduate of the United States Pony Club, Jen previously held advanced certification through NARHA (now PATH Intl.) and contributed to KART’s mission in its earlier years.

Following 14 years of international experience in the Caribbean and Canada, Jen has returned to Kent County to focus her expertise on therapeutic horsemanship once again. She is currently completing her updated PATH Intl. certification, bringing a high level of technical skill and the "fundamentals of horsemanship" to her students. Jen is driven by the visible joy and sense of accomplishment that horses provide to KART participants, and she is dedicated to fostering those transformative moments through structured, compassionate instruction.

With over 40 years of experience in the equine industry, Pam serves as a senior leader in the field of therapeutic horsemanship. Her professional credentials include certification as an instructor through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) and as an Equine Specialist with the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA).

Pam’s career took on a profound new dimension in 1992 following her son Scott’s autism diagnosis. This personal journey ignited a lifelong commitment to disability advocacy, allowing her to bridge the gap between professional equestrianism and specialized therapeutic support. Today, Pam manages a premier, full-service equestrian center housing over 40 horses, where she seamlessly integrates high-quality equine management with life-changing therapeutic programs. Her work is defined by a unique combination of technical mastery and a deep, personal understanding of the needs of the disability community.

Equestrian Specialist & Stable Management Mentor

Genna brings a lifetime of equestrian experience and practical expertise to the KART team. Growing up at the Worthmore Equestrian Center, she developed a deep, foundational understanding of equine behavior and facility operations. An accomplished rider herself, Genna now translates that first-hand knowledge into impactful mentorship for our participants.

As a leader in stable management, Genna provides children with essential, hands-on instruction in equine husbandry and land stewardship. She is dedicated to teaching the next generation the nuances of horse care, ensuring they develop not only riding skills but also a sense of responsibility and a comprehensive respect for the animals and their environment.

My name is “Micah”. I am a Haflinger that has been in the KART program since 2007. I am very quiet and easy-going, traits for which Haflingers are known. I am very strong and sturdy and can carry a lot of weight, and I am short enough that  side-walkers can easily assist a rider in need of support. I am a smart horse who loves to be around people and is a happy worker. I am KART’s go-to horse when using the mechanical lift to transfer a wheelchair. I also am one of the chosen ones who gets to leave the farm and visit our seniors who are unable to come to the farm, as well as the children and adults at Camp Fairlee. I love my life!

Hello, it’s Brutus! You may remember me from my racing days in Delaware and Maryland, where I had 39 starts, 9 wins, and career earnings of $222,540—including a big victory at Timonium in 2021. Today, I’m proud to be in a new role as a therapeutic program horse with Kent Association of Riding Therapy (KART) at Worthmore Equestrian Center. Since being adopted from MidAtlantic Horse Rescue in March 2023, I’ve been training hard to build strength, balance, and patience so I can safely carry riders of all abilities, including those who use a special lift from wheelchairs. Now, instead of chasing finish lines, I’m helping children and adults with special needs find joy, confidence, and independence in the saddle—and their smiles, laughter, and kind pats remind me every day that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

My racing name is Everlasting Pride, but everyone calls me “Pride”. I am 19 years old and a standardbred gelding. The first race I won was as a two-year-old in 2008. I was turned out to grow and mature and started back racing in the Spring of 2009. I raced for the next four years and made a mark of 1:51, that’s impressive in the standardbred world. I was able to make approximately $300,000 for my owner Barbara Gannon. I retired from racing and easily stepped into the role of a pleasure horse. I was taught to lunge, free liberty in the round pen, and participated in riding lessons. I showed in the New Jersey Standardbred Horseshow for two years. I did clean rounds in jumping and won the spoon & egg classes, lol. My favorite things to do are eat, trail ride in the woods, hang out with my pasture buddies, and walking across streams. Now I have a new chapter in my life-helping others with KART.
